Our number one priority is the health and safety of each pet guest. Our health and vaccination requirements are in the best interest of all our guests therefore, all guests are required to meet our health and vaccination standards outlined below:
Vaccination Requirements for Cats & Kittens
Exception: All kitten guests must be at least ten (10) weeks of age and have received their first two sets of our required vaccination standards.
Vaccination Requirements for Dogs & Puppies
All guests must be in good health and must not be ill or have been exposed to any contagious or communicable condition within the last 30 days prior to check-in. For the health and safety of each of our guests, we do require all our clients to certify that their pet is in good health and free from illness upon reservation check-in. All pet parents must have a Dog Day Care and Pet Boarding Guest Profile form completed and on file with us prior to their pets' check-in.
Pets showing signs of sneezing, coughing, gagging vomiting or diarrhea may not be admitted. These conditions may require a health exam with our veterinarians prior to check-in. Any guests showing signs of fleas or ticks upon admittance will be treated at owner's expense. Our staff will discuss details with you should these situations occur.
If at any time while your pet is in our care it becomes evident that they are ill, our medical staff will notify you of the situation so that proper steps can be taken in your pet's best interest.
With the exception of your pet's personal diet foods/treats and collar, we provide the rest! Clean and comfortable bedding, toys and dining dishes are provided for all our pet guests. Due to health and safety considerations, we can't accept any pet personal belongings — such as blankets, bedding, toys, chewing bones, bowls, etc. If you have concerns about your pet and reducing possible separation anxiety, we will ensure your pet has a personal clothing item of yours (that you provide) to help ease the adjustment.
Due to your pet's specific nutritional diet needs, we require pet parents to bring the pet's own food and treats for their stay. Food products are to be in either an airtight container with a lid (i.e. Glad or Tupperware-type containers) or in self-locking Ziploc-type bags that won't puncture or open. Please make sure your pet's first and last name is on all food containers. Our staff will confirm your pet's feeding portions and meal times upon check-in. In the event your pet's food supply runs short or needs to be replenished during their visit with us, we can either attempt to obtain your pet's specific food or provide a veterinarian-recommended appropriate food substitution. There is an additional cost for either the food product in need or our food substitution diet used.
Due to your pet's excitement level, we recommend limiting the amount of your pet's food you provide prior to reservation check-in. Likewise, limit your pet's food and water after arrival at home for the first couple of hours to allow your pet to settle down and get back into their usual routine at home. We'll provide you with more information on this upon check-out.
Our boarding pet guests have many opportunities throughout the day and evening to engage in potty break activities and may also engage in socialization and exercise activities with other boarding guests during these times. If you have any questions or concerns on your pet's ability to participate in these group potty break activities, please notify our staff at check-in. Personal potty breaks and lots of individual attention from our staff are always available for our guests who prefer one-on-one time.
To ensure our younger guests start out on the right 'paw' with a positive and fun experience, puppies 10-24 weeks of age will have additional personal potty break times and social interaction sessions with our staff members only — complimentary. Kittens will also have personal social interaction sessions with our staff throughout their visit.
Please know even though our boarding guests are supervised by our staff at all times, it is still possible to receive an occasional scratch from another guest due to the social nature of the group potty break activities.
In the event your pet is currently on medications that you request be given while boarding, we are happy to provide this service. There is an additional fee for medication administration and injection services. Just ask our staff for details.
All medications shall be provided by the owner, including diabetic insulin and injection supplies, and be in the original prescription-dispensed bottle/container clearly labeled with the pet's first and last name, the type of medication and detailed dosing instructions. Medications not properly labeled and brought in their original prescription-dispensed bottle/container cannot be accepted.
We realize that some of our guests may have special needs. Those guests requiring special needs attention or with a current medical condition will need to be evaluated and cleared for admittance by our veterinarians prior to reservation confirmation and check-in. Guests requiring specialized care are addressed on a case-by-case basis. Please feel free to speak with us about your pet's special requirements when making your reservation. Depending on your pet's needs, there may be additional fees for care during their stay with us.
All of our pet guests' medical records and special care instructions are carefully documented in their secure electronic medical record at each reservation. Our medical and patient care policies and procedures are continuously reviewed and updated by our team of veterinarians to ensure that all our guests have a healthy and safe visit with us. We voluntarily participate in ongoing accreditation with the American Animal Hospital Association to hold our staff and our practice to the highest standards of veterinary care. All our guests are required to have their pet parents sign an emergency medical consent authorization and 'House Rules at the Inn' acknowledgement.
Our staff members are knowledgeable in pet care and trained by our medical team. In the event of an emergency situation or injury with your pet, our medical staff will contact you. If immediate medical attention for your pet is required, our veterinarians will also engage in requisite attention for your pet to administer medicine or attend to their urgent medical needs serving in their best interest, and will contact you for further instructions. We are conveniently located within two miles of a 24x7 emergency animal hospital — the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center's Emergency Veterinary Service—and can also provide transport services to their facility.
For those pet guests who may need daytime attention and care from our staff during our open business hours only, we offer day boarding services as well. Those pet guests staying just for the day receive regular feeding and scheduled potty exercise breaks as well as lots of attention from our staff. Day boarding is separate from our pet boarding and dog day care services and is a great alternative for pet guests who may be shy, have social challenges with other dogs or just need a place to relax for the day and have some personal time with our staff.
We are happy to provide personal guided tours of our boarding, dog day care and hospital facilities upon request. For the benefit of all our guests, tour times are conducted so as to not interfere with their feeding, sleeping or cleanliness routines. Our hospitalized patients' care and comfort are our top priority when they are with us in our veterinary hospital, therefore there may be times when tours of the hospital areas may not be available. For the health and safety of our staff, our guests, and in accordance with our vaccine and health requirements, no pets are allowed on tours.
